Are You Adding Drama To Your Wardrobe?

Have you decided that the clothes you wear are a bit boring? Maybe you've gotten in a rut where you just wear the same neutral colors over and over again. From going through your present wardrobe to shopping at a vintage clothing store, here are some ideas that might help you to add pizazz to your wardrobe.

Take Time - Select a time when you won't have distractions, maybe after the kids have gone to school or on your day off of work, and go through your closets and drawers to see what you want to keep and what you want to give to a charity organization. For example, you might have a favorite pair of black slacks that you know you won't part with. Put those on the Save Stack. On the other hand, you might have worn those slacks so often that they are beginning to show wear. Obviously, you'll put them in the Charity Stack.

Take time to actually try things on. When you put that skirt on, does it flatter you? Maybe you don't wear it because you don't have a top that looks good with it. In that case, make a note on a shopping list to look for a blouse or shirt that will go with your skirt. The same goes with accessories. If you haven't worn certain items in a very long time, you probably need to give them away.

Go Shopping - After you've carefully gone through your closets and drawers, you're probably ready to go shopping. Think of places where you can buy unique articles of clothing. Have you ever shopped at a vintage clothing store? If not, you're in for a treat. From vintage band T-shirts to beautiful peasant skirts and blouses, you'll probably find one-of-a-kind items that will for sure add drama to your wardrobe.

Think of bringing some of your favorite clothes with you that you already own. For example, if you kept that great fitting pair of slacks, bring them with you so that you can try them on with different tops, whether they are vintage T-shirts or tunic blouses. The vintage clothing store will probably have great jewelry, too. Some of the clothing and jewelry you find will be new, but you'll probably also get to shop for hand-me-downs that will turn into some of your favorite clothing items. You'll probably find that the vintage clothes and jewelry you select are so affordable that you can select several new items for your wardrobe.
