Are You Packing for a Beach Trip?

Are you headed to the beach this summer? If so, you might be thinking that all you'll need in the way of clothes is a swimsuit and flip flops. Upon giving it more thought, however, you have more than likely realized that there will be times that you'll want real clothes. From packing smart to taking athletic shoes with you, here are some ideas that might help you to pack the right things for a beach trip.

Pack Smart

Sure, you're right about packing a swimsuit, but have you considered that you'll probably want to take more than one? Putting on a damp swimsuit may not be the best sensation you've ever felt on your skin. So, consider packing at least one extra swimsuit. Think of taking a strapless dress that is elasticized at the top. It can be worn in so many ways. For example, you can use it as a swimsuit cover-up. Then, if you decide to go out to dinner and you want to look extra nice, the same dress can be pulled down to the waist to be worn as a skirt. Add a peasant blouse or a silk tank top to give it a bit of a dressy look.

Add Shoes

Of course, you've more than likely already thought about packing flip flops and sandals. However, have you considered that you might also want to take athletic shoes with you? For example, you might decide that you want to hike in the beach area, perhaps looking for things like pretty shells and driftwood. Hiking in sandals or flip flops will probably not take you very far, especially if the sand is super hot. Taking athletic shoes means that you'll be able to take long walks. And if you love to run in the early morning or late evening, you'll be very happy that you took your athletic shoes on your beach trip.

As you pack your suitcase, consider color-coordinating the items of clothing that you're going to take. For example, if you want a red, white ,and blue theme, you could take blue capris and then pack red and white t-shirts. Think of jewelry you'll want, too. For example, take red, white, and blue chunky plastic jewelry for going into a nearby town for lunch. Then, for a dressier look when you wear your strapless dress as a skirt, take some gold-toned or silver-toned jewelry.
